Born as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in 1986, Lady Gaga has been her professional name. Gaga worked as a song writer for Sony/ATV Music Publishing after being dropped from a contract with Def Jam Recordings. She was noticed by Akon and helped her sign a deal with his own KonLive Distribution and Interscope Records. International chart-topping singles such as “Just Dance” and “Poker Face” were part of her debut album “The Fame” from the year 2008. Needless to say, the album was a critical and commercial success. In 2011, she went on releasing her second full-length album “Born This Way” topping the charts in more than 20 countries, including US. She won a Golden Globe award for her work in the television series “American Horror Story: Hotel”. Her outlandish fashion sense also landed her name in Time magazine’s All-Time 100 Fashion Icons List. Rolling Stone named Gaga as the “Queen of Pop” in a 2011 ranking. She also maintains a close relationship with her fans which is evident by the fact that her fans call her “Mother Monster” while she calls her fans “Little Monsters”, a phrase which she had tattooed in dedication to her fans.
